Nature Medicine is a monthly journal publishing original peer-reviewed research in all areas of medicine on the basis of originality, timeliness, interdisciplinary interest, and impact on improving human health.

Volume 29 Issue No. 2 of Nature Medicine featured a cover story focused on research findings showing that although acceptance of COVID-19 vaccines increased in 23 surveyed countries in 2022 relative to 2021, vaccine hesitancy also increased in some places. In particular, the article discussed the link between misinformation and increased hesitancy toward the vaccines. In other words, for some individuals, as a result of misinformation—the COVID vaccines cast a scary shadow.
