About

Jon Kalish has owned and operated a design studio in New York for over 18 years, offering services for both print and digital media across a broad array of professional disciplines.

He is particularly interested in creating work that contributes to the common good, with many of his clients being in the domains of public health, higher education, and the arts.

Jon’s primary areas of focus are visual identity and publication design. His educational background in fine arts (painting and drawing) continues to inform his grasp of the crucial relationship between graphic art and tangible material. He firmly believes that as digital screens become ever-prevalent in daily life, the power of meaningful printed matter increases.

In addition to his wide set of creative talents and competencies, Jon possesses substantial technical knowledge and experience in print production.

Aside from servicing a variety of clients independently, Jon currently holds a consulting position at the CUNY School of Public Health in the Communications Department as Design Director. He has been the brand’s steward since 2016 when he created and launched the school’s visual identity.
