American political scientist Ian Bremmer founded Eurasia Group in 1998, the first firm devoted exclusively to helping investors and business decision-makers understand the impact of politics on risks and opportunities in foreign markets. Top Risks is Eurasia Group’s annual forecast of the political risks that are most likely to play out over the course of the year.
The logo designed for the forecast is a bold expression of urgency and threat. The eleven shapes erupting from (or penetrating into) the typography represent the number of risks contained in the forecast—ten, plus one red herring.
In addition to the logo, a publication template was designed and prepared for use by Eurasia Group’s in-house design team.
